Abstract

This text seeks to focus its resources on locating the political-ideological treatment of the COVID19 pandemic in two national circulation dailies: “Reforma” and “La Jornada”. To prove these claims, a content analysis was carried out on 158 covers of each of these newspapers, incorporating in this reflection the theoretical support of Teum Van Dijk and Lois Althusser. This document is divided into three parts: the first will deal with generalities and characteristics that allow to understand this research technique. The second part points out the concept of ideology, its relationship with the press and function in the political scene. The last part includes an approach to the methodological practice of content analysis, whose exploratory claims will allow to draw tenuous relationships between political ideology and the national press.
